The Monster Kids

The inspiration for the Monster Kids came from my little girl who has a dark little mind sometimes and comes up with some pretty devious stuff. I imagined short 'funnies' rather like Peanuts but perverting them by giong down the Edward Gorey/Charles Addams route.
At first the Monster Kids were just two little sisters, Ivy and Luna who were to have mini adventures, some of which would be harmless and others would have dark undercurrents (of course the sisters would never be hurt and wouldn't always be completely aware of their perils). I shared my ideas with the Collective and MWPete liked the whole idea about how the adventures would just be these short, sweet, almost throw-away stories. Since then he has shown me several great designs for characters.
The Monster Kids gang now consists of Ivy, Luna, a swamp-boy, a skeleton and a vampire-boy. MW came up with Swamp-boy and the Skeleton and they all are now slowly taking shape. I have already written around eight or nine shorts and have a few more in mind. I try to keep them as short as possible, never going past eight panels, and I try to make each short similar in feel. I will submit a few rough drafts that I have ready so you can all get an idea of what I am going on about.
